qStandard are a partnership formed by two academic scientists with extensive qPCR-related experience offering MIQE-compliant, independent services and training in qPCR. They supply fully validated reference gene assays, design and validate custom primers, provide a comprehensive qPCR contract service and run hands-on workshops in London.
The Gene Quantification page describes and summarises all technical aspects involved in quantitative gene expression analysis using real-time qPCR & RT-qPCR. It presents new and innovative qPCR applications, chemistries, methods, algorithms, MIQE and QC strategies, cyclers, kits, dyes, analysis methods, events and services. Commercial and academic institutions can present their qPCR tools on the qPCR platform.
Founded in 2001 by pioneers in qPCR, TATAA Biocenter is a leading provider of gene expression profiling services and a prime organiser of hands-on training in qPCR and other molecular techniques. TATAA Biocenter offers a full range of real-time qPCR services including high throughput qPCR analysis, primer and probe design and validation, data analysis, testing and evaluation of kits and instruments, and contract research to Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies among others. TATAA Biocenter is also a partner in several EU-funded research projects and national R&D efforts.
Biogazelle was founded in 2007 as a company specialising in qPCR experiment design and data analysis. Its founders are Jo Vandesompele and Jan Hellemans, whose expertise in qPCR and biostatistics is internationally recognised. Biogazelle conducts qPCR courses and provides individual consultancy. Biogazelle is also an experienced service provider for academic and industrial customers, amongst others providing whole genome miRNA profiling and data-analysis experience. Biogazelle also supplies qBasePlus, a leading qPCR analysis programme.
DNA Software was founded in December 2000, and applies state-of-the art software simulation techniques to the in-silico modelling of nucleic acid interactions in genomic assays. The company's core technology builds on the science of Dr. John SantaLucia, arguably the world’s leading expert on nucleic acid hybridisation.
Biosearch Technologies is a major provider of standard and specialist oligonucleotides with a track record of itself to perfecting the design and manufacture of innovative nucleic acid based products (e.g. the Black Hole quenchers). Biosearch also provides an excellent online qPCR assay design tool.
PREMIER Biosoft Founded in 1994, is made up of a group of computer scientists and biologists who translate innovations in life sciences into software products. Amongst their best-known products are the outstanding assay design programmes Beacon Designer and AlleleID.
MultiD was founded in 2001 by Swedish scientists with a focus on multidimensional data analyses. One of its main products is GenEx, an advanced software package for the analysis of qPCR gene expression data. Its strengths lie in its statistical capabilities that include parametric and non-parametric analyses, clustering methods, principal component analysis as well as artificial neural networks .
IDT specialises in DNA synthesis, gene construction, antisense oligos, molecular beacons and a variety of molecular biology products. They also provide a wealth of useful qPCR-related information, together with an excellent online assay design programme.
Anglia Ruskin Postgraduate Medical Institute
The Postgraduate Medical Institute (PMI) is a partnership of currently 22 members involving all the NHS acute hospitals, primary care trusts and mental health trusts in Essex, plus Essex County Council, Ramsay and Nuffield Hospitals, The Royal Society for Public Health and the five faculties of Anglia Ruskin University. The PMI brings together the considerable clinical and academic expertise and resources of all 22 partners for the development of clinical and professional practice in health and social care.
